At CONTENT we are commited to supplying the finest natural alternatives to conventional beauty and grooming products. We have selected boutique brands from around the world, to create an emporium dedicated to our passion for natural skincare and organic ingredients.

CONTENT was created from the desire to shop in a boutique environment, safe in the knowledege, that all unnecessary synthetic chemicals had been edited from the selection. We have choosen brands that not only meet our ingredients criteria, but don't require a compromise on the luxury we like to indulge in. No longer does shopping for natural products, have to be conducted at a health food shop, or exclusively online.

The online store reflects this experience. It is no less indulgent or informative. The one to one consultations we provide instore, can be conducted through the KNOWLEDGE section of our site. Ask us a question, revue the 'Skin Conditions' for recommendations or check the 'Holistic Skin Health' for tips and home remedies.

It's taken 2 years of research, editing and a lot of shopping, but finally we are CONTENT.

OUR ENVIRONMENT

At CONTENT, beauty and wellbeing, includes taking care of the world we live in.
Many of us are becoming more discerning about how we shop and the lifecycle of the products we buy.
We want to provide you with a choice to support companies, who share the same ethics as you.


SHOP

Our shop has been created using recycled vending machine coffee cups, wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, organic paints and 2nd life objects. All without compromising the boutique shopping experience.

We have reused items to create a unique interior, filled with curiosities and humour.

  • Old yardley compacts become push button door handles
  • 1920's hand mirrors are used as an installation and for closer inspection during make-up trials
  • 1950's and 60's porcelain mice and rabbits are used to illustrate the 'not tested on animals' pre-requisite.
  • A 1920's album, complete with the previous owners hand drawn portraits of 1920's women, has been reused to record customer contact details
  • 1950's metal chandelier complete with flowers, forms the centrepiece for the lighting

Hand drawn illustrations of plants combine with reference pictures and found items as a homage to the ingredients we love.


PACKAGING / PAPER / WASTE

Many of the brands we stock have eliminated excess packaging from their products, others provide packaging that can be recycled.

All our mail orders are delivered in recyclable card boxes, with items protected in the world's first bio-degradable bubble wrap. 

Our carrier bags, given out on request only, are pretty enough to keep for housing treasures. However, these can be recycled if needed.

Our gift wrap is vintage, from the 1950's to the 1980's, choose a design to suit the occasion. 

Tissue paper, office paper and envelopes are all from recycled paper.

Card boxes from deliveries we receive are disposed of through a recycling company. We do not use the council's paid business collections service, as, in our area, council collected commercial card waste, goes to landfill.

Our brochure uses one sheet of recycled paper and vegetable inks. We do not use special finishes, coatings, or foils as this limits the way it can be recycled. We think natural is best...our paper actually feels like paper!


SERVICE PROVIDERS

We like to work with as many like-minded, small owner-operated companies as possible.

From sourcing office supplies, to ensuring our computers are from an electronics company, that features high on the Greenpeace list of green manufacturers.

We are constantly looking at ways to ensure our consumption is a consicous, considered choice.

Our electricity is green and our money sits in an ethical bank, dealing exclusively with organic and ethical businesses. It's being used to help indivduals and business like us.

It's a long road to eco-perfection, but we've started the journey and are committed to choosing the most eco option, wherever we can.
